Christmas tree with silver jewelry and melted metal

I wanted to get xmas tree shape shining. So I decided to use liquid Gallium for drawing. This metal could be easily melted even in your hands.
The easiest way to melt Gallium is to use bowl with hot water. And take the metal out after melting with a syringe.
For this collage I was needed to take photos of every element separately. Including drops of melted metal.
After using and melting the same amount of metal few times it becomes dirty and losing its shine. So to avoid really hard postproduction retouch its better to shoot everything from the first try.
The most disadvantage of Gallium - is a huge mess after using. It's very hard to clean the surface from it. So my brand new red vinyl background was lost after its first shooting. And ofcourse every new metal drop should be done on new cleen area.
After all, the result is worth all the effort. Any other material not be able to reproduce the shine and physics of real metal.
